If you are looking for a Pakistan holiday in the tranquil setting in the lap of Nature, then Kaghan Valley will surely tempt you. Experience the wonder of the majestic mountains, lakes, waterfalls, streams and glaciers.
A Pakistan Holiday in the Kaghan Valley is an unforgettable experience
The Himalayan hide-away, situated northeast of the Hazara district of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, the Kaghan Valley is named after the town of Kaghan not after the Kunhar River as is generally thought. The Valley extends for 155 kms rising from an elevation of 2,134 metres to its summit, the Babusar Pass, at 4,173 meters.
The valley is worth visiting for its mountains, lakes, dales, waterfalls, streams and glaciers. All of these are still in an incredible pristine state. Best time to visit the Kaghan Valley is during summer (months ranging from May to September). Movement is restricted during the monsoon and winter seasons. The valley is accessible by road via the towns of Mansehra, Balakot and Abbottabad.
Kaghan is famous for fishing. Brown Trout and Mahasheer are stocked in pure silvery waters between Kaghan and Naran. The Kunhar river trout has been hailed as the best in the sub-continent. Located near Kaghan valley, Lake Saif-ul-Muluk offers a pristine location for fishing.
One of the most charming features of the Kaghan valley is the Gujar (herder) families. Tourists can find them camped along the road in their tents or moving up the valley with their goats, sheep and pack animals.
